Ethics and Learning

This week as I studied more about integrity and ethics I have an increased resolve to stick for exactly to my own code of ethics.
There are definitely different ethical degrees of people in the business world and as my husband and I have seen while running our own business and partnering with others, this makes a huge different in the success of the business longterm. We are in the process of planning a new business venture and discussing different associates to align ourselves with and this week has helped clarify our standards in that area. I really liked the questions Sheri Dew talked about when hiring someone to work for Deseret Book. She discussed her process for hiring when she said, "I found myself asking three questions: Can I trust this person’s motives? Can I trust this person’s judgment? Can I trust that he or she will tell me the truth? I realized that, while skills were imperative, integrity was even more so."
Also, this week while studying the case study of Magdalena Yesil I have a greater desire to learn as much as I can in all the positions I hold in my life and not shy away from taking on a new challenge even if it is not entirely in my current wheelhouse.
