The end in mind

This week I learned more about Stephen R. Covey's Seven Habits. I loved chatting with my husband about all the concepts and relating that to our personal, professional and family and marital success.  If we could teach our children young to make these seven ideas real "habits" then that would set them up for all opportunities for success in their future. We had a family home evening about habit 2 "Beginning with the end in mind". We all wrote down how we want to feel when we leave New Zealand in about five months and then worked backwards creating goals to get us to there. We came up with places we want to visit as well as friendships we want to strengthen and goals to accomplish. Now my job is to type these out to hang on each persons wall and then create a family to-accomplish list. We have learned that when doing anything even a family vacation or dinner out it is important to think about what the end goal is. That has really helped us decide what to focus on.
