The final effect of our thoughts and Acts
I was inspired by Taylor Richards teaching about thinking big. That we need to not underestimate ourselves and really believe we can be great. I also agree with him that we can believe we can be great but we need to involve the Lord in our planning and decision making and then we really will be enabled to achieve great success in our lives. Richards quoted Jim Collin in Good to Great when he said, "It's a whole lot more fun to do great things that to just be good." Sometimes we think of success being so much hard work and sacrifice, and it is, but the creativity and fulfillment that comes from truly being great and living up to our potential is way more fun.
I also really enjoyed Elder Oaks talk about Becoming. It is important to do the right things and stay true to what you know to be right but the final effects of our thoughts and acts will be what really matters in the end. Has that doing changed us to become more and what positive affect have we had on those around us to help them become all they can be?
